That is so funny. I know an old barristers' clerk in the Temple who used to do EXACTLY THAT. I was being told only yesterday about a very grand old silk (now a retired Lord Justice of Appeal) who got too lazy to read the papers for conferences, reckoning he could always wing it. He apparently used to put his hand on the top of a stack of unread files, pat them and say "this case just FEELS like a winner"
