Son of Sir Oswald and half-brother of Max - I was interviewing him for an article. I spent three hours in his house in London talking to him about his embarrassing dad, his war service, his opinions on literature, politics and religion.

Then we shared a bottle of wine, whilst he prodded his dog with his walking stick, yelling "You're being a bore!" at it, over and over again.

Some party, that was.
