but this (otherwise loonatic) idea of Gartside's does have one possible merit; a Prem 2 might mean clubs reign in their spending on wages (a bigger league will contain more weaker sides)

I mean; Hull's first season up saw them go from Debt Free to 22 mill in the hole, and all of it repayable in 12 months.
