... you wanted to know what I thought of Stewart Lee, didn't you?
Well, I laughed from start to finish, pretty much, but the show was nowhere near as good as Stand-Up Comedian, 90s Comedian or 41st Best Stand-Up Comedian, all of which are (IMHO) nigh-on perfect.
Basically, his repetition is a bit predictable now, and when he focuses it on the wrong subjects it starts to drag a bit. The targets he chose for this show seemed safer than the ones he used to go for - I never mind people taking the piss out of Top Gear, for example, but I bet there wasn't anyone in the audience who didn't think Jeremy Clarkson is a t**t.
He ended the show with an obviously made-up part about Magners and its slogan which went on for too long. Highlights were the Caffe Nero loyalty card and the bit about prawns/the countryside.
So funny in all, but I can't help feeling he's peaked. And we tried and we failed to have a chat with him in the Waggon & Horses afterwards.
And that's it in a nutshell.
