However, any Labour Government will always create a void in which far right extremists can thrive. Indeed the further left they go the worse it gets.

Those before Griffin thrived in the mid 70s because of a wet centre Conservative Government under Heath. When Thatcher arrived, the far right had nowhere to go.

Criticising New Labour is an enjoyable sport, but no matter what direction Blair and Brown took this country, only Thatcherite, socially-polarising tories have evr been able to stifle the rise of the far right.
