those of you who are hoping that he will quit if we lose tonight or lose to Plymouth are going to be dissapointed. I know two people who work at the club and who both chat regularly to senior staff there and the board have absolute faith in Worthy and things will have to get really bad for them to even comtemplate sacking him. I personally have spoken to Neil Doncaster in the past and when ever i have spoken to him i have had difficultly saying what i want to say to him because he is really bigging Worthy up saying things like "he has done a terrific job etc", so sorry guys Worthy aint gonna be sacked for a while yet at least.
The only other hope you have is if Worthy quits. But then like i say the board have faith in him and he knows this so i think unless things get really bad he will not be jumping ship for a while yet. He and his family have lived here for about 5 years and they are very settled, so Worthy will have to feel that he absolutely cannot go on any longer for him to quit, and that time if it comes is a long way off.
Do i want Worthy out? I am not so sure. Sure we MIGHT be able to get a new manager in who is more tactically astute, but then again we might not. We would have to pay off Worthies contract (there goes most of our transfer kitty) and the instability that plaqued out club in the nineties may return. Worthy going by what ever route may work out better for the club, but then there is always a strong chance that it might be a disatrous move for the club and that is why for the mean time at least Nigel should be given time to turn things around.
Your thoughts?
