I must admit I had it until I saw Beckham play for Real Madrid

when he was absolutely phenomenal.

Right at the back of an 80,000-seater stadium, everything he did stood out. His will to win, his vision and his passing were impeccable - at a time in his career when it would have been so easy for him to think "I've won everything (at club level, anyway) and I have everything" and stop trying.
