I liked Maniche for two reasons, both involving John Motson.

1. Motty (his friends call him Motty) got more excited by the name 'Maniche' than any other name (or, indeed, word) in professional football.

2. John Motson used to tell the viewers at home that Maniche was named after a Danish player called Michael Manniche EVERY TIME HE TOUCHED THE BALL.
