FAO pants: last night was Richard Hawley....

...Smoke Fairies were frankly poor....nerves and perhaps the occasion got to them: their singing wasn't great, they have no real stage presence and they barely acknowledged the audience (perhaps cos of the nerves)..

However, Hawley was incredible - a man truly at the top of his game at the mo...

And an odd moment - after he went off at the end of his set for the will he/won't he play an encore routine, he comes back out and says he's been working with a lady from America and would we like to meet her....everyone obviously shouts yes and so he promptly introduces Lisa Marie Fucking Presley to the stage...f**k me does she have Elvis' cheek bones...

And then he finished the night off with a barn storming rendition of The Ocean with some breath taking, heart breaking, virtuoso guitar playing?

Fucking brilliant night...I stood up at the end and gave his some mighty fine clapping action as he deserved a standing ovation for that and then some...

I am happy...
