why its time for change...

Cast your mind back to the promotion season, the feel good factor around Carrow Road, looking forward to every game knowing we are on to a good thing.

We had the right mix of youth and experiance, good honest pros who knew how to gel as a team and get results.

Lets look at now, and that has gone, we dont have a team as has been said on another message board. we have 11 footballers. We cant gel, we cant work together, its 11 players all trying for themselves.

Yet worthington persists. He refuses to admit the team has a problem, he cant see the defence is lacking, he has his "golden boys". certain players can be crap week in- week out yet Worthy will persist with them.. other players (EG Saffri in the past) can have 1 bad game and be cast to the reserves never to be seen again.

and, to top it all off, he insults the fans intelligence on a weekly basis. he appears on TV, radio norfolk, or in the local paper and spouts rubbish about his beloved "passion, commitment, work rate" when at times under his regime there hasnt been any. The fans have seen the team playing badly and have been crying out for worthington to make the changes, when he hasnt hes come out after games and said hes been delighted, basically throwing the fans opinions back in their faces.

Worthington doesnt like being proved wrong, doesnt like players who question him, and cant admit to making a mistake.

the key players who took us up 1st time round werent just Hucks and Mckenzie they were Edworthy, Roberts, Francis, Malky, Mulryne, McVeigh, Svenson.. with the exception of McVeigh whos still here where are all those others?

Malky, off loaded without being given a chance in the prem - replaced by Gary Doherty!

Iwan, the Talisman, the man who could of lifted the fans when needed, lifted the players when heads were down... he might not of been up to the premiership, we will never knownow.. but he would of lifted the players to perhaps 1 or 2 more victories.

Svensson - excellent championship striker, but gone for next to nothing, when we so badly need someone to pressure Leon for a 1st team berth..

Mulryne- capable of turning a game when on form.

which brings me onto damien Francis. Reports of a bust up with McKenzie seem to be true, which points to the decline of francis in the 2nd half of last season... could u work in that sort of environment where people had turned against you???

i also think it might of split the dressing room.. worthington should of acted there and then, been honest with the fans and said there had been a problem in training and both plyers would be disicplined. Perhaps even got rid of both of them...

McKenzie now seems unhappy here, Francis friends perhaps getting to Leon, Leons friends getting back at them.. a dressing room split down the middle and an incompetant manager who wont do anything to sort it out.

He has ruined a team that got us up, and perhaps could of kept us up with the correct adiditions instead of getting rid of players.

he refuses to admit to his mistakes, refuses to criticise his teams, refuses to be challenged or questioned (even at fans forums he gets shirty if someone questions what he's done) and thinks his eternal optimism is going to win us matches... it wont!

its going wrong Worthy, if we fail to win against Stoke or Plymouth then we go to Ipswich.... Supposing we are winless come the biggest game of the season and bottom of the league..

worthys "passion, commitment and work rate" wont help him... Come christmas if we're not in the promotion hunt then say good bye to Deano (contract or not) say goodbye to Green, possibly Marney will get fed up and return to spurs. and we will be left where we were 10 years ago.. a mid table (at best) championship outfit, still waiting for the "work ethic and not being able to fault my players" to take us up.. when its taking us nowhere...

Time to go Worthy... we need someone else in, a new man with new idears, someone who the players will respect and can get a team together not just 11 blokes to chas e the ball with no co-hesion...

Iwan Roberts perhaps??? one name that springs to mind, and someone appreciated at the club by everyone pretty much...

for the good of keeping Ashton, Greeno and building for the future Nigel Worthington has to go if we dont win monday... never mind this "give him a chance, we can turn it round" i suppose the people who say that will be saying it in april when we are nowhere to be seen?
