he's got a great story...

He was telling the children at my sons school the value of saying "Thank you" to your parents for giving them the opportunity to attend the school. When he was a kid his father took him to an airshow and co-erced the reluctant boy into taking a "fun flight" around the aerodrome. The boy was even more reluctant when the decrepit pilot hobbled into view and ushered the petrified young lad aboard the plane. His father, towering above him said "Son, make the most of life's chances".

With that the boy took off and enjoyed a magic experience that led him onto a fine career in the RAF. Recently he took the homecoming parade in Kings Lynn as the unit returned from a tour in Afghanistan, he then towered above his frail father and with a proud tear he said "Thank you" to his Dad. Oh and the name of the decrepit old pilot, Douglas Bader.
