They won't open for registrations for a couple of months yet.

They get something like 250,000 applications for 54000 places, so they do a random ballot. That's normally in Feb, I think.

However, if you're unsuccessful, you can go to one of the big charities, and get a place from them in return for a guaranteed sponsorship. That's how I did it last year- cancer research uk got me a place, and I had to guarantee ?400 in sponsorship.

Don't know how the London Marathon do things, but that's the GNR.
