quite a lot more really. But in the simplest terms - that's what it does - the best things you'll see is if you've had a backlit photo and then use it - all sorts of detail comes out. And without having to faff around. The main thing that the 'experts' will see is that it brings out all the detail but doesn't actually lighten the rest of it - so you're not actually changing anything. I know sweet fa about photography but I'm learnign quite a lot quite quickly!
