A man has reportedly been arrested on charges of kidnap and extortion after tricking nine women into signing up for a non-existent Big Brother-style programme.
According to Sky News, the women, aged 16 to 24, were locked in a luxury villa in Istanbul, Turkey after responding to online advertisements to appear in a show titled Somebody's Watching You.
The women are believed to have signed contracts promising to forfeit ?20,000 if they left the house before the end of the two-month "show", which was in fact not broadcast.
Within weeks, the women reportedly became suspicious after no tasks were set and evictions did not take place.
The police were called by the girls' parents and it is claimed that officers heard them calling for help from inside the villa.
It is alleged that photographic images taken in the house were later sold as internet pornography.
The investigation is ongoing.
