Austria is a democracy

and therefore an awful lot of people (often regarded as a majority, as those who don't bother to vote effectively cast a vote in favour of no change) voted for these policies. Frankly, that says enough for me.
When we finally discovered the fascist regime (1979 - 1997) was so desperate, we simply got rid of them. So it can be done. Of course not all Austrians are extremists of any type - but for the bad to prosper it only takes good men to do nothing.
