Player ratings from last night...

Well, here we go. I have to say my view of the game was slightly obstructed as I took my little 7 year old cousin to his first ever NCFC game and he was asking me questions every two minutes (bought him an NCFC shirt and an inflatable canary!) and he also wanted to sit 'near the front' so we were sitting on Row D in the Jarrold (then we got rained on) so it wasnt the best view but here we go...

Alnwick - 7: Stepped up to the plate after Forster's clean sheet and looked to have his best game yet. made a great second half save from a header, a couple of good punches and came out quicker than I have seen him before.

Spillane - 7: Looked pretty solid at right-back and not much went past him. Still a little slow and doesn't get forward which is why I would play Semi.

Nelson - 7: Beginning to think Colchester was a blip, looke solid and composed all night alongside Askou. Actually wasn't that slow either and won alot in the air. Almost scored with a header.

Askou - 8: I love this guy. He can tackle, head, pass out of defence and smack the ball over the Jarrols Stand! Looks a little shaky when he gets turned but overall no real complaints

Lappin - 7: Looks comfortable at this level. Was lovely to see him as el capitan and think he thrived off it, could hear him shouting quite a bit. Not much got past him and when they did he just subtly fouled them.

Hughes - 6: Very good first half hour then faded a bit, but shows quality on the ball, intricate passing and a few interceptions.

Adeyemi - 6: Made some good tackles and was involved quite a bit but still need to beef up like Korey a bit to take further control of MF. Great effort from the halfway line (I started celebrating)

Russell - 5: Lambert said he did well, I thought he was quite poor. Didn't realise he was playing first half much. mImproved a bit as game went on and it is probably lack of match fitness but thought he was a bit anonymous.

Whaley - 5: God this guy is frustrating. He looks to have pace but never goes past anyone, doesn't track back and doesnt make good off the ball runs. Poor overall.

Martin - 7: Great goal and a good contribution. Looks good coming in from the left as he proved vs. Wigan pre-season. Also helps back a bit, an improved attitude from the Beccles boy.

Maric - 4: Shit.
