Part of the beauty is that 75% of the time it's the same episode every week.

They've made the conscious decision to restrict themselves to that format, consequently the writing and the character development need to be that much better in order to make each episode unique and compelling.

It's certainly up there with the very best writing on TV. Some of it is astonishing.
