All walks of life can be seen on the side of the A17 if you go up and down it enough.

Actually, that's not true, last time I saw a monk was in Backfast Abbey, but that's where monks live, so that hardly counts. Last time I saw a monk out in the real world was by the side of the A17.

Would you stop and pick up a monk that was hitchhiking? Actually, that needs to be a thread os its own.
