Seems strange to go to the trouble of poaching a manager with such an average record

I've got nothing against Lambert or us appointing him but what makes him so special that we felt we had to illegally approach him?

I can't beleive he would be given the job just because of the result last saturday but looking at his record on soccerbase doesn't show up anything of any note.
