By that time it had become a very occasional purchase. Shame really, those days when it really used to matter getting your fingers dirty with NME or even the likes of Sounds before it went totally heavy metal were great. I used to cut up parts of the mags and use them as covers for mix tapes and stuff.

Mix tapes - a whole night's work for an hour and a half of music.
