because his central defensive partner was rubbish for (alright, sheffieldcanary, 80mins), and holt was right: they didn't defend as a unit. So they hit platt with the long ball, bypassed a midfield who were too far forward, and every single time it was two on two.
think the major problem now will be this odd paradox whereby we expect them to play football and will probably get annoyed when they don't - but really we've got to smash it forward to holt and see what happens. and the only way that will work is if someone with pace and intent plays off him (ie, not chris martin). god, he was back to his disinterested rochdale away self...
