Well.....

1) I have the pace of an arthritic ant. So, yeah, keeping up was difficult.
2) It's how much you have to take in. Your brain needs to be very spatially aware to 'see' it all.
3) it's the pace at which it happens.
4) It's the angle you see it from. More is hidden from pitch height than in the stands.
5) Some of it is actually impossible to judge. Offside requires an assistant ref's eyes to be focussing in two places at once and be perfectly in line with both.
