which is the same family as the QI t**t and website and books

this site though User Posted Link kind of concurs with the previous link

it does seem as if the notion that the Dutch introduced it is wrong, but perhaps they did popularize it and perhaps caused the practice to spread to more native american tribes than had originally routinely practiced scalping
