I know it's not a pleasant language to listen to

Not a flowing one anyway, from what I've picked up in airports and the like. Very glottal, punctuated with stops and grunty sounds. Is that fair? I bet like most lingos it can be spoken roughly: I bet Cockney and Scarse sound unpleasant to forrin ears.
