Slightly late, but seeing as how I went to the game....

Overall I thought the performance was good, in the grander scheme of things we are now a League 1 team and we beat what in theory was a nearly full strength Championship team.

Got to sit behind the goal so didnt experience the well documented crap seating in the normal away end.

Theo - The small crowd made it easy to hear what people were saying, I could even hear Butterworth, but Theo was loud, clear and assertive. Was pretty fast off his line and claimed some good crosses and can kick past the half way line. Made one good save not long after we scored. Looks like a good keeper.

Drury - Same old I guess, had his once a game slump to the ground moment where you think he has died again, but other than that bombed on when he had the chance and looked pretty sold.

Spillane - I think this kid will be key this season, moved to centre back after Nelson went off and played well. PLayed very well at RB with some great blocks and clearances. Even got forward.

Doc - Looked sturdy enough, couple of his trademark long balls went to no one and that was about it.

Nelson - Have not had a chance to read up on his injury yet, but had been solid until then. Won every header, cool on the ball and actually wanted the ball too.

Hoolahan - Awesome last night, certainly the key to us getting promoted. Always wanted the ball, ran and ran and shrugged off plenty of tackles.

Whaley - Not much by way of creativity early on, maybe as Spillane had been getting forward, he did cover well though. Looked better late first half/early second half and took his goal well.

OTJ - Not sure he did anything particualrly note worthy, but maybe thats his way. He certainly wasnt bad, stood his gorund well and had a chance with a free kick.

Gill - Looks out of proportion, his top half is too small!! Not shy of a tackle and has quick feet when he is in the mix, able to get the ball out and moving. Seems he also has a long throw which might come in handy.

Martin - Cant blame the lad for trying, really got stuck and tried hard but never really looked like scoring.

Holt - Decided it was a good time to set up a goal as I was slating him for not running fast enough. Charged down a long ball and was out paced but annoyed the s**t out of the full back, won the ball and laid it off to Whaley to drill it home.

Subs:
Kris Bright - Kris Shite
Lappin - Nothing spectacular - will be a useful squa player this season.
Semi - Man possessed when he came on, maybe he saw Spillane and realised his shirt might not be so secure. Lots of running and got in their area a few times.
Adeyemi - Not enough time to really do anything.
McVeigh - As above.
