Kinetic Energy Recovery System

when a driver brakes the energy produced by braking is stored in either a fly-wheel or a battery, the driver is then able to use this stored enegy in the form of a boost to the engine to go a little bit faster for a short time, and they're only allowed to use that boost twice per lap

most teams haven't bothered with it because it weighs so much and that extra weight plays with the overall weight distribution in the car and the balance and s**t
