And obviously this is conjecture cos i didn't see him for myself, but I've read people say he was a bit slow in pulling the trigger yesterday - and this makes me wonder if we've coached the natural striker out of him. It's not just us, other clubs do it too, but we've done it a lot.

If we have, I suspect his career may be short because there must be hundreds of other young strikers who've been told not to be instinctive.

I dunno if you were in at the time, but I posted in the chatty last season that I'd be prepared to bet that Cody never scores another goal for us (someone took the bet, and it's no longer on offer by the way). This wasn't down to any appraisal of Cody or his talents, it's just that we've managed to stop a few of our own strikers from being goalscorers, down the years, and he *has* come late to the game. I'm not saying he definitely won't score another goal, just that I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't. I hope he bags fecking loads.

I'm less pessimistic than that sounds.
