Rule No.1 of following football.....Never read much into pre-season friendlies

players only giving 60%, it aint the real thing.

Some of our most successful seasons have come on the back of awful pre-seasons and vice versa.

I remember one year, 1990/91 i think, when we won virtually every pre-season game, but began it awfully. Paul Blades was bought in as sweeper but it just didnt work!
