The 8 you list plus Daley, Smith and Lathrope who were considered good enough for senior contracts is 11. And we still haven't shifted Russell and Clingan. 8 is two too many at least.

Looking at what we have Lappin seems to be sixth choice central midfield, third choice left midfield, and third choice left back. I'm not struck on loanees but surely having two left backs out is just the sort of circumstance when you use the loan market?

Every week we are going to have highly paid employees not even making the bench.
