Which I don't take to mean you have to spend absolute shedloads to get a decent foreign striker.

Rather, I think it suggests that you shouldn't read too much into transfer fees. It's possible to spend quite a lot on a s**t player. Or, if you get lucky, it's possible to get a much less s**t one for very little (eg Cody, hopefully....)
