Well, obviously it was all about the money. Any person would have done the same

the mistake was not realising he could have got back in the England squad as easily as he did - his one real big passion. Obviously being in the US has made it more difficult in that respect. And more the power to him for getting back in despite that hindrance - would have been easy to sit back and accept he was never getting in again, and have a cozy life in LA. Instead, he is fronting up to it.
