"There's really only one thing that people are interested in...." etc etc re the yellow jersey.

The French go nuts over a Frenchman who manages to win a stage, for example. Fans of the Tour are interested in lods more than who wins the yellow jersey.

I guess your point is that to non-fans that's the only thing that's interesting - but then non-fans generally miss the point of most sports, don't they?)
