perhaps we bid what we thought he was worth

as you know I'm not exactly in the pollyanna camp, but I do tend to think that sometimes these bidding wars actually have little relevance to where someone actually ends up.

Having said all that I also think we might be guilty of spoiling the ship for the halfpennyorth of tar in some of our dealings. But perhaps with our new CEO that might change.

Oh and I guess that if Simon Whaley knows that Blackpool are interested, and he's a lancashire lad, then that's going to be more appealing than heading to east anglia.
