I think NX have suffered as less people are buying the expensive walk on fares, open or first class tickets, so they?ve tried to re-coup by hiking the prices on the super-advance ?6 tickets, which are now ?8, and presumably this increase has filtered through to other tickets.
Their revenue protection was a bit of a joke, barriers only just installed at Norwich station ? one of the Caps used to work for one of the other franchises and he reckoned fare-dodging was costing them a fortune. I saw scores of people each match day just walked through with no ticket.
They also seem not to have invested in decent ticketing systems as I had to print my own tickets for the Caps Group Travel on more than one occasion, as the computers said no.
The people I dealt with were helpful friendly and did their best, (and read this board ? Hello Dan), but they seemed to be hampered by the whole system and procedures, and were stressed and over-worked because of it. And then they were all made redundant.
