I did think carefully about the rebates on the seasons I pay for. The only good motivation I could see for claiming them (since I am lucky enough to be able to afford not to) was if I thought it would topple Delia: if that had been the case, then I would have claimed them like a shot. But I couldn't see it happening. So I decided the club was better off with extra cash, on the basis that occasionally they do sign decent players like Wes and Sammy, and that it might help them hang onto Wes (whom I enjoy watching)
