Question to fans of The Wire who've seen series 2 and 3

How's series 2 rated by Wire fans? Cos for me series 2 was a bit dull. Actually that's not the word: it wasn't anywhere near as compelling as series 1, like a dodgy sequel to a great fillum.

What I should have asked is: if I didn't much enjoy series 2, will the rest pass me by similarly, and should I bale now before it pisses me off?
