why do teams

who get relegated nearly ALWAYS struggle to bounce back and have a bad first season.

is it cos

a) the best players leave?
b) the current players can't get up for it in a lower league?
c) other teams raise their level every week?
d) the current players know the prize on offer, and getting hammered most of last season is no incentive to do it again?
