They could have, but were not allowed to (I think)

Tournament rules, which were forced by having two games in one day. There's only so many hours for the first game which needs to be completed for the second game to start.

In theory the second game could have finished at 10.00pm (as do several county T20 games), but I think that this would have been unfair to a team that may have had their first game shortened so the second game could start.

Equality for all.
