Our 'good' midfielder (who isn't quite as brilliant as made out - if he were someone other than Coventry would be knocking) doesn't want to play in the third division. We are in the third division. We're not in a bargaining position here. Money plus a striker fit for purpose is not a bad deal. And I daresay that like most of us you've probably not seen more than a few minutes of Simpson, who was brought in by Dowie not Coleman and therefore is probably suffering in a similar way to other players in that position.
Time to face up to where we are and making the Ronaldo/Fotheringham analogy is futile - Ferguson doesn't need to consider this because he is manager of the premier league champions with money to spend.
