I'm not sure your analysis is correct about Roeder

Personally I think we would have gone down if he'd stayed; we were just getting worse and worse. That we went down anyway doesn't really change that.

But I think you're half right - the board seems to be s**t scared of appearing to not listen to the fans lest they appear out of touch. Hanging on way too long with Worthy might also have made them trigger happy since. That said, I really can't argue with the sacking of Roeder (or Grant for that matter)

I fear for next season though. My expectations are that we'll struggle from the off and we might take years to rebuild; but seems to me that a substantial proportion think we're going to walk it because "we're too big for L1" and we'll continue to chuck big sums of money (that we can ill afford) at crap players instead of rebuilding. I don't think Gunn's the man for either job really so I expect sometime before Christmas there will be calls for him to be sacked. And the worst thing? They'll probably be right...
