I don't recall the interview that you mention. Like I say I hope there was a logic to it, something about the 'Costa del Colney' or something. Or maybe it was about money. We may never know.
The problem with saying that Gunn should have at least two seasons is that it is not just time you also need ability. What if he doesn't have it, like Grant didn't? That is why it is such a risk. If they had appointed a proven manager I would have no problems with saying that they should have at least two years. Gunny is much more of a risk.
