Not sure exactly how that would have worked, so maybe an appointed role rather than board member.
However, considering his time spent in the admin side of the club he has some experience of the business side. He also knows football.
Had we got a manager in (maybe a Rioch?) to work with the current coaching set up and scout in Deehan, Butts and Chippy, you would have a good football link right from the youth, through reserves and first team, to the scouting, all the way up to those making the big decisions and holding the purse strings.
