When Chirs Lewis came into the England side under Athers, he spent the morning watching Tendulka batting and told Athers and the team 'no worries, he has a problem going across his stumps, this bloke is going to be my little bunny, any time'. When India were 298 for 1 with Tendulka about to complete his double century, Athers walked past him and said laconically, 'now might be a good time'. :)
