They can't really charge

more for Prem football (my god, did the Pricing Group really believe that promotion was a possibility, even in those heady days of September?) and not charge less for relegation.

You would hope that they have done their sums, and that if only 30 per cent give up their rebate that it doesn't cause huge problems.

After all, even with a 20 per cent cut next year our income will still be around 8 million; and there aren't many clubs in our league that can match that.

Of course if they only cut the outgoings by 20 per cent we are still losing money, but let us hope that they have seen the light and that our spend on egos (sorry, footballers) is cut by at least 1/4.
