the reason Hucks always gets the ball with defenders in front of him is because he positions himself so that he has to. You NEVER see Hucks making runs off the ball so that people can play balls behind the defence for him to run on to. He always hangs back precisley in order to get the ball at his feet with defenders in front. That's what he likes doing.
Ultimately I have some sympathy for Worthy in that Hucks ties his hands. The modern game is about 4 or 5 man midfields - with Hucks playing the only way to match that is to have one proper striker, which often leaves you struggling to score goals (unless you have a real goalscoring midfielder and they are VERY rare). So Worthy can't really solve our midfield problem without dropping Hucks and that would get him even MORE stick. This is the dilemma that we have never solved and is probably the reason Hucks has never made it at a top club. I've never seen a reasonable solution posted on here so in that respect I don't blame Worthy for not coming up with one.
