...you're buggered if you try and do anything at midday; they all shut up shop for AT LEAST an hour. Only thing you can do is go for a ridiculously overpriced glass (not PINT) of beer...sorry, bierre.

(Obviously that's not recommended for a long-distance cyclist...)
