if he said we would be completing the transfer this week...

then i guess he's at least quietly confident. Unless he meant that morrisson would be completing a transfer somewhere this week, but that he wasn't confident it would be with us. Which is a refreshingly pessimistic attitude for an aspiring manager to take.
