It's a pointless debate anyway. Who cares what the majority opinion amongst fans is?

Large groups of people have demonstrably shown the ability to make bad decisions.

Besides if you cannot argue against Gunn's appointment without needing to rely on the crutch that "the majority agree with me (even though I've got no way to actually prove that)" then you're really not fit to get in to the debate in the first place. There are so many more important and impactful things that you can base support for your argument on - managerial experience only of failure, questionable motivational ability, tactical acumen - use those instead, and create a cogent and logical argument. Relying on "But everyone I know agrees with me" is weak.

I don't mean "you" personally, obviously, I mean "one".
