The cloests I've sailed to the wind

was the year I took silk, and the f**king Lord Chancellor decided FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER to hold his part of the ceremony during the Easter vacation (needless to say the Lord Chief refused to open the Courts in vacation so we have to have TWO ceremonies, about 3 days apart).

Anyway, because it was vacation I was away skiiing so I had to break my holiday and fly back. I claimed the travel costs as a business expense, but didn't cover anything up - I wrote an irate explanation to the Revenue about how irritating the whole thing had been. They allowed the claim.
