Footballing reasons?

The only things I can think of are the fact that with only a brief flirtation with the transfer market he managed to get a big man up front, a decent centre-back and poach a genuine talent from the lower league.
He managed to get the best out of Wes by working out the best position to play him in and getting the right personnel to play with him.
Having said that, some of his substitions (or lack of) were quite queer and starting formations questionable as many people have pointed out.
I would prefer to have someone else, but for reasons Arizona has mentioned, I think if things don't improve financially for city, regretably, Gunn may be the only way forward.
